Why do people hate bailouts of companies that make poor choices, but want to help people who make bad choices?

Question by Abstract Lagniappe Anomaly Bama: Why do people hate bailouts of companies that make poor choices, but want to help people who make bad choices?
The bulk of people on welfare have made some bad life decisions to get there (generalization, but not off base). Why should I pay higher taxes to help someone who has a 100 a month cell phone bill, big screen TV, 1500 rims on a jacked up Lexus but can’t “afford health insurance”?

You know what? There are some welfare creeps. There will always be welfare creeps. However, some of these people are mentally handicapped, and there are some who are unuable to work because of other hanidcaps. I have no problem with these people who are on welfare. However, any able bodied person, ought to be made to work for whatever they receive. If someone is on welfare, why cant they be required to perform some labor for the state in order to get payment? I dont understand. If this was a requirement, you would see people get of their butts and get some work because they would feel that they could make more if they had a real job. It’s not demeaning to work, it is demeaning to get something for nothing. Also, I want all yall to realize that it isnt ONLY BLACKS WHO GET WELFARE! Usually, when ya’ll are on here, yapping about welfare, you’re trying to forget all the white folks who are on it too.

I don’t understand why Democrats claim to hate company bailouts since their elected representatives were the ones who bailed out the companies. Maybe you need some new elected representatives.

    Hypocrisy.

It’s so funny, people say to me “well I didn’t hear you complaining when those corporations got bailed out”. But here’s the good part…. I did.

It must be that moral relatavism thing again, like Bubba Clinton and his “depends on what the defintion of is is.”

i dont think we should be bailing anyone out. it is just another way for the govt. to get their feet in the door and be able to control the country
