Question by Sandra: Does anyone know of any vehicle extended warranty companies that are legit?
I have been having a lot of problems with my car, so I want to buy some extended warranty of some sort. Thanks.
Check your local credit union/bank as well. And as mentioned your Personal auto carrier may offer the coverage as well.
Though dont expect any current problems to be covered under the warranty. Also the price depends on the type of vehicle you have and the mileage. There is not a flat cost across the board. European cars will be higher, Asian cars lowest and American cars in between.
Check with your car insurance company. They may offer “breakdown insurance”, which is same as extended warranty. I know Allstate offers it.
Also, depending on the age of your car, you MAY be able to get factory extended warranty, but those cost a bit, and your car must be less than 3 years old for cheaper coverage (else the rate goes up quite a bit).
Finally, I believe GE actually sells extended warranty, but I’m not sure if they sell direct to consumer or just through dealers.
The ones that call you on phone, DO NOT trust them. The only extended warranty I would buy is the original manufacturers extended warranty, some dealers also sell off brand policies, BUT, they won’t service yer vehicle at that particular dealership, READ the FINE print!
If you own a GM vehicle, check with any GM dealer office that handles (sells) the GM extended warrenty policy. This also applies to other car manufacturer’s and their vehicle brands
