Mobile Phone Insurance – What Exactly Is Loss Cover?

Question by Sikodemon: Mobile Phone Insurance – What Exactly Is Loss Cover?
Hi guys,
Just taken out insurance on a phone and was reading through the boring small print and saw that my policy cover “Loss”, but doesn’t cover ” Loss caused from a negligent or abusive manor”. Basically it’s called due dilligence, meaning I’d have to have taken all reasonable precautions before losing it.
The thing is that the policy doesn’t cover loss from neglect, but as far as I know loss IS neglect. How do you responsibly lose something? I can’t see any situation which would be classed as a “valid loss”.

Any of you guys know any better?

Just call it stolen if you lose it. You don’t know that it wasn’t stolen.

I’m not sure what your coverage wording intends but “Loss” in terms of insurance generally means financial loss which would include any kind of damage. Is there a “Definitions” section of your coverage contract? My cell phone company AT&T has paid insurance on a phone that I lost, and I told them I lost it….I left on the counter in the store and when I went back to get it, it wasn’t there.

Got something to say? Go for it!
