How much money do I “need” to enter Germany for two weeks?

Question by Chamonatron: How much money do I “need” to enter Germany for two weeks?
What I mean is, I’m staying with friends, so my accommodation and food is all covered at no cost and I’ve already paid for my flights and insurance. But I’m sure that German customs will ask to see my funds. So how much will I need to show them?

They do not ask you how much money you have. In less you are someone on a list of some kind they will just look at your passport ask for your landing form, given to you on the plane and wave you on through.
As for how much to enjoy yourself iI would recommend a minimum of approximately € 50 to 75 a day.
If you plan on buying anything expensive or treating friends you may need more.
Not that you will spend it all but it’s better to have to much than to little.
Also if you have a debit card you can use it easily as they have many ATMs available.

That depends on your citizenship if you are citizen of any EU country the customs will not even ask you same if you do not need to apply for a visa to enter Germany ( US citizen) a credit card is enough and customs usually do not even ask you how much money you have in cash.

That said if you are a citizen of a country who needs a visa to enter Germany the customs might controll you since one necessity for the visa is sufficient money.
A written declaration of your friends over here should help avoid any problems. Same counts for a valid credit card.
