Question by Ro: How long can i play games on a HD PLASMA TV?
I just brought a HDMI cable for my xbox 360 and then i read the instruction book and there a part where it says “IMPORTANT” Stationary images in video games can “burn” into some TV screens, creating a permanent shadow. Consult your TV owner’s manual or manufacturer before playing games. I was just wondering if i play games using the HDMI cable how long can i play on a HD PLASMA TV. Need help. Please answer my question. Thank you

A crucial factor could be the age of your TV. Older plasmas definitely had the burn-in problem. Newer ones have added circuitry or improved plasma cells that mostly avoids the problem. If your TV is fairly new, check its specs for a “motion adaptive” feature or something else that addresses burn-in.
You can play as long as you want, but static imagery is what causes burn-in. For example, if you download a game or other big download off of the xbox marketplace, do not leave it on the downloading screen, switch to another source such as TV or switch it off.
Also make sure you don’t have the brightness and contrast too high as times it can contribute to slight screen burn-in.
