How do I know when I am being “trolled?”?

Question by Rorschach: How do I know when I am being “trolled?”?
I get on sites like yahoo answers and other forums asking for advice and I get a lot of answers. Sometimes I take the advice, but it does the opposite of what I want. My friend told me I was being “trolled.” I have a hard time telling the difference between trolls and people, can anyone help me with this?

Well, trolls then and trolls now are completely different. Trolls then would corner you into a discussion that you couldn’t win because they are really smart or clever. Trolling now is a bunch a 12 year old gags that have taken trolling and twisted it into making terrible jokes and saying things such as “LOL FAGGET,I JUST TROLLD YOU SO HARD.MY MOM IS A WHORE AND NOBODY IN YOUR FAMILY LOVES YOU.LOLOLOLOLOL”. That, my good sir, is not trolling.
